Medical robots

A medical robot is intended for use as medical electrical equipment (IFR AP6). This page shows one isolated surgical-system sheet; it is not compared to rehabilitation or hospital-logistics robots.

Class definition

Medical robots form their own IFR category (legacy code AP6). Classes include diagnostics (AP61), surgery (AP62), rehabilitation and non-invasive therapy (AP63), medical laboratory analysis (AP64), and other medical robots (AP69). AP61–AP63 include robotic devices. [A1]

AP61 — Diagnostics

Robotic diagnostic systems; includes robotic devices. [A1]

AP62 — Surgery

Robots for invasive therapy (surgery); includes robotic devices. [A1]

AP63 — Rehabilitation & non-invasive therapy

Therapy (except surgery) and rehabilitation; includes robotic devices. [A1]

AP64 — Medical laboratory analysis

Handling or processing of samples in medical laboratories. [A1]

AP69 — Other medical robots

Other medical applications; hospital transport robots are classed AP52. [A1]
