Industrial arms

A fixed industrial manipulator is programmable in three or more axes (IFR definition). Articulated collaborative, SCARA, and parallel/delta kinematics have different reach and payload meanings and stay in separate tables. TCP-speed definitions differ by safety mode and are qualified per cell.

Class definition

An industrial robot is an automatically controlled, reprogrammable, multipurpose manipulator, programmable in at least three axes, fixed in place or fixed to a mobile platform, intended for industrial automation. IFR recognizes articulated, cartesian/linear/gantry, cylindrical, spherical, parallel/delta, and SCARA kinematics. [A1]

Articulated collaborative arms

Three same-class 6-axis collaborative arms. “Maximum TCP speed” differs by safety mode across vendors and is qualified in each cell. Each column is filled only from that vendor’s own sheet: UR20 from the tech sheet, GoFa 12 from the ABB CRB 15000 product specification, CRX-10iA from the FANUC CRX brochure. A blank cell means that vendor does not publish the axis, not that the value is unknown to be small. Payload boundary conditions are kept on the payload row — UR20’s 25 kg and GoFa’s 14 kg both require a stated pose. SCARA and delta arms have different reach and payload meanings and stay in their own tables below.

SCARA

Four-axis horizontal articulated arms. Repeatability is stated per joint on the vendor datasheet, and J4 is an angle while J1–J3 are millimetres, so they never share a row. Motion range carries the vendor’s own maximum speed for that axis. The two FANUC sources disagree on SR-12iA J1+J2 repeatability; both figures are printed rather than averaged. This table is SCARA only — delta arms are below and are never merged into it.

Parallel / delta

Ceiling-mounted parallel-link arms. Payload is at the wrist. A delta’s working volume is a cylinder, so reach and work envelope (Ø × height) are separate rows and the cylinder figure is never printed as a reach radius. The FANUC America data sheets and the current FANUC delta brochure disagree on repeatability; both are printed. M-2iA/6H is absent from the current brochure, so its brochure-only rows stay unfilled instead of borrowing a sibling’s value. SCARA arms are a different kinematic class and stay in their own table above.
